Two years after Marc Bolan's death; one year since the budget Pickwick label released a perfectly serviceable greatest-hits collection, and finally, EMI got around to unleashing their own: a track stomper that rounds up almost every T. Rex hit single from 's "Telegram Sam" through to 's "Dandy in the Underworld." As such, a couple of gems are missing -- most notably the valedictory.

While Dandy in the Underworld might not be T. Rex at its peak, it's still really fine.
